There is no denying that there are still some things that the French do better than anybody else. Producing Foie Gras and producing pudding wine are certainly two such things. So we thought that we would put them together and add some Sauternes Jelly to make rather a lovely gift set. In this deluxe gift set, we have included the goose bloc as well as the Entier. (Sadly, they are not very good at making jelly! The last effort did not set, so we are using Prosecco jelly while they have another go.)
Do note that the very smart black gift box has a magnetic seal. This means that it can be accessed, items refrigerated and then the gift can be re-assembled at a later date if need be.
Goose Foie Gras 180g
Our Whole Goose Foie Gras is produced in France and is of outstandingly high quality with a lovely rich flavour. The fantastic range of semi preserved foie gras is a perfect starter or canape. The Goose is a little richer and denser than the Duck. Which do you prefer?
This gourmet delicacy is presented in a traditional kilner jar and is delicious served with our Sauternes Jelly on lightly toasted bread/brioche and paired with the Sauternes.
Bloc de Foie Gras (Goose) 130g
A variation on the above, with the foie being processed to produce a dense pate but also containing pieces of complete foie gras. This produces a smoother texture and allows for a more elegant presentation.
Prosecco Jelly 120g
Imagine the flavour and taste of Prosecco perfectly caught and preserved in a jelly. Made in Italy, it is a rare find,
but you will be glad that we tracked it down for your enjoyment.
Chateau du Suduirate 2015 Sauternes 37.5ml
Bright golden colour with brassy gold edges and pale gold hue. The nose displays honey and nut top notes followed by peach and spicy pineapple. Matured in French Oak barrels for 18-24 months, this is a modern sauternes and is rather more vibrant than traditional sauternes, so making it more versatile.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
