Here is something new and rather lovely all round. The company is called Sapling Vodka and they are based in London and use 100% British Wheat and quadruple distill the vodka so it gives it a very clean and creamy flavour. They then put it into a lovely bottle, which will improve the look of any drinks cupboard.
The really nice part of the story is for every bottle purchased they plant a tree for a community based project. These trees are planted all over the country and on each bottle there is a unique code. If you enter this code on the Sapling website, you can see where the tree is planted. If you are really bored, you could even go and see it.
Not that I'm one to fall for novel marketing tricks.........
Belvedere is a single-grain (100% Dankowskie gold rye) luxury Polish vodka distilled four times to give a subtle sweetness and smooth, clean finish. Handcrafted in small batches in the town of Zyrardow on the Mazovian plains west of Warsaw.
To make a FRUITS OF THE FOREST MARTINI: Shake 2 oz. Belvedere Vodka, 1/2 oz blackberry puree, 1/4 oz. Chambord and 1/2 oz. pineapple juice with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
If you think that that sounds revolting, best just to drink it neat with some caviar.
